Oct 15 /05 - Jody & I Met Dan Aykroyd

On a super-short-notice spur-of-the-moment thing, Jody found out that Dan Aykroyd, of Ghostbuster, Blues Brothers, and Saturday Night Live fame, was in town representing "Patron Tequila" down at the Willow Park Wine & Spirits store down in the south of Calgary.

So, we showed up! A fairly long line of people were there, but Dan was great, signing everything that people had brought along. He was even having photos taken with folks as well!

I got a Blues Brothers DVD & a "Best of Dan Aykroyd @ SNL" DVD signed. I would have gotten a Ghostbusters DVD signed for Stewie if I had time to pick one up, but alas. I asked Dan what his favourite movie was that he was in, and he said "Blues Brothers". I told him my favourite was "Spies Like Us" with him and Chevy Chase. It was a totally goofy and fun 80's movie that I loved because these two geeky non-spies end up saving the world. I loved it.

Jody had seen Dan down at the Palliser Hotel getting onto his Harley the day previous. Totally fun. Dan was on his way back to New York after his appearance here. Still jetting around all over the place.
